What should be adapted in the macro when the language version of Windows is different from the language you are dictating in?
Below is a more detailed explanation of how to change these list settings, and also a demonstration movie.
Sometimes the keystroke combinations of for example the Windows system menu vary in different language versions of Windows. Note the underlined letters:
English system menu | Dutch system menu |

|
|
Below are the keys belonging to {alt+space} (giving the system menu above), that are different in the Dutch window system and the English window system.
letter for | enx | nld |
maximise | x | m |
restore | r | v |
size | s | f |
move | m | r: |
How to change? Read at the bottom of this page.
What does the list of <taskcommand> look like?
This list contains each time a (possibly empty) written form and a spoken form, separated by a "\" (backslash). My list is presented below, each user can adapt to his/her own use.
taskcommand | remark |
\choose | this is especially for first task choose etc. when a grouped task is chosen. No written form, so no additional action, only in the task is selected. |
\mouse | This one also doesn't do anything special. Each task macro positions the mouse in the middle of the active window. With the command task mouse the mouse is positioned in the middle of the current active window. |
{alt+f4}\close | This is the keystroke combination to close a window |
{alt+space}x\maximise | This keystroke combination is for an English window system. For a Dutch window system the key will be m instead of x. See table below. |
{alt+space}n\minise | |
{alt+space}r\restore | also this keystroke combination is different in different language versions of Windows. |
{alt+tab}\back | task back simply does the well-known alt+tab key |
{f5}\refresh | This one is very practical when testing websites. You can refresh the Internet browser with this command. Can also be used in the Windows Explorer. |
{shift+ctrl+a}\other display | this is a special one: if you have more displays (in my case of NVIDIA), you can sometimes define shortcut keys to send a window (task) to the other display. So that is what happens with eg the command task other display, after you define the appropriate shortcut key for this. |
With for example choose or mouse there is no written form, so no action. When you say task mouse or third task choose that is done and no additional action is performed.
When you say task close or task 5 refresh the action that is given in written form is performed {alt+f4} or {f5}.
